Kings of Bass TV announces “The Last Ride with KVD” following Kevin VanDam’s retirement announcement earlier this week. After spending 32 years as the most dominant angler in the history of professional bass fishing, the Kings of Bass crew will be exclusively covering KVD’s final season on tour, reflecting on the past, and looking ahead to the future.
Easily the most decorated angler of all time, Kevin has smashed numerous records and won hundreds of tournaments in his 32 years in the circuit. He has 7 BASS AOY Titles and an FLW AOY title; 4 Bassmaster Classic wins; 25 total BASS wins and 4 MLF wins. What’s more, KVD has competed in over 320 BASS events and owns 121 top-10 finishes (183 top-20’s), and he has scored a top 10 in 35-percent of the BASS events he has ever entered.
Senior Video Field Producer for Rather Outdoors, Brandon Owczarzak, reflects his experience following KVD on KOB. “After following KVD on tour with Kings of Bass for the past two seasons, our crew has developed a very close relationship with him. We're able to share moments behind the scenes that most people never get to see. This season on Kings of Bass: The Last Ride with KVD, you're going to get a glimpse into the mind of the greatest bass fisherman of all time,” Rieber says.
Although this is KVD’s last year competing in the MLF Bass Pro Tour, he is not leaving the industry all together. “This being my 33rdseason as a touring pro, at the age and my place in life and career, I have decided I can be more impactful in the industry I love very much,” Kevin VanDam said. “I still have a lot to give back to the sport I am so passionate about.”
As KVD moves into his final season, Rieber and his team capture all of the emotions that accompany the transition. “Kevin gets very emotional as he reflects on his career, thinks about his future, and tackles his final season of competition. Entering his 33rd and final tour, Kevin still has the same competitive fire to win. We're showing fans the highs and the lows all season long until his final cast in a tournament,” shares Rieber.
Kings of Bass TV is the number one source for premium digital content which showcases our top pros sharing tactics and techniques while fishing a variety of locations and seasons throughout the U.S. KOB also gives viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into daily life of pros including their life on tour, their head-to-head competitions, and their home life during off season. The Last Ride with KVD is sponsored by Strike King, Lew’s, and Mossy Oak, and will be a 5-episode series airing on KOBTV and My Outdoor TV.
